Based on the studies of melting and casting scheduling optimization in copper strip industry, a multi objective model is established, which takes into account minimizing the production time and total delay punishment comprehensively. A Multi Objective Artificial Bee Colony/Decomposition (MOABC/D) algorithm was proposed to solve the model. The algorithm uses the framework of Multi Objective Evolutionary Algorithm/ Decomposition (MOEA/D) and the neighborhood search strategies of Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. Furthermore, a Pareto solutions sorting approach based fuzzy set theory is employed. The results show that the proposed MOABC/D algorithm is superior to the other two comparison algorithms and can provide evidences for the decision maker in scheduling optimization.
