AbstractConsidering a complex multivariable nonlinear biodiesel transesterification processes, the steady state model gain is derived for the quantitative analysis of relative gain array. From the point of view of controllability, a simplified 2×2 structure pairing is established and relative gain array is recalculated to implement decentralized control strategy. Based on a validated mechanistic model and structure analysis, the multivariable dynamic matrix control algorithm is implemented. Simulation results show that the predictive control strategy is more efficiently with minimal overshoots and oscillations as compared to decentralized control strategy.
