Other AbstractThe current method of Numerical Control (NC) rough machining restricts the improvement of die NC-machining efficiency. The method of die NC rough machining based on stratification was studied in particular. In this method, means of three-dimensional Computer Aided Design (CAD) model slicing were introduced briefly. The way of adaptive tool path generation and planning was explicated. Through study of shortcomings of existing tool path generation algorithm, a new adaptive circle tool path generation method was proposed. As the diameter of cutting tool being computed based on the curvature of slicing border, the optimum tool path planning was implemented. By using this method the accuracy and speed of the rough cutting processing was improved. The new method was effective in practice and the efficiency of NC-machining was greatly improved.
