By utilizing the normal vector of small triangles in the STL files, the maximum of normal vector of the flank surface among the unit levels is calculated. And the thickness of each level along the dividing direction is also calculated adaptively. In this way, the step effect is guaranteed to fluctuate in the permitted range. Compared with other methods, the method for adaptive slicing can backward obtain the normal vector of many small units that correspond to the dividing directions according to the small triangle data and improve the speed of computation. In addition,the disadvantages of this method in the process of direct slicing are analyzed and a precise revision scheme is put forward.
