AbstractFoundation Fieldbus has been adopted abroad in industrial application. Function blocks are provided by Fieldbus Foundation to construct industrial application easily. However the Function blocks defined by Fieldbus Foundation could not meet all the requirements of process automation. Fuzzy theory has been proved to be useful in the control field where the mathematical models of process are inaccurate or even unknown. In this paper we present a method to implement fuzzy PID function block by combine the fuzzy theory and function block technique to extend the application area of Foundation Fieldbus.
