AbstractThis paper puts forward that the key tools of product design model are the CAD and the Product Configurator, and thinks that the Product Configurator cooperates with the CAD mutually, so that they can accomplish the assignment of product design jointly, and satisfy the requirement of the intense product competition. At the same time, the data structure of the product design model was expounded by this paper, and established the foundation of the product design model. Then the web technology is adopted as the settlement scheme for the product distributing design and manufacturing. This paper has formed three layers of information system foundation construct with the data layers, the serve layer and the application layer. The product design model has been the core model of Product Lifecycle Management.
