摘要: It is well known that the transformation of a matrix to Frobenius companion form may be numerically unstable. The paper analyses rounding errors of a stabilized transformation to a modified Frobenius form having appropriate scaling factors in the subdiagonal. Then, the numerical stability of a root locus criterion using a quasi-Routh array is analysed and applied to the matrix stability problem in differential equations to decide if all eigenvalues have negative real part. The paper concludes that these methods can determine matrix stability with high accuracy. However, no numerical examples are included.
